CMAT February 2013 exam is over now. The second edition of the Common Management Admission Test commonly known as CMAT was conducted over five day test window starting from 21st February to 25th February 2013 across the country by All India Council of Technical Association (AICTE). The test was held in two slots. The morning slot was from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the afternoon slot from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The test started with a 10 min tutorial.
The pattern of CMAT February 2013 remained same as the CMAT September 2012. The paper was divided into four sections namely Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Each section was consisted of 25 questions carrying 4 marks each. Each wrong answer will result in 1 mark deduction. Overall the paper was easy especially for those who were preparing for CAT but the general awareness and quant section was a bit tough for some. However, the fact that there was no sectional time limit made it easy for the candidates to answer the whole paper in a relaxed manner.
Now let’s have a quick look at the different section of the paper:
Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: – This section was easy to moderate. It had questions on ratios, mixture, time & work, mensuration and P & C. Those who were thoroughly prepared did not find it to be difficult.
Logical Reasoning: – This section had questions on Family Tree, Logical Puzzles, Series, Clocks, Calendars, and Data Sufficiency etc. They were also easy to moderate.
Language Comprehension: – This section had a good number of critical reasoning questions with really close answer options to choose from.It comprised of small RC passages. There were questions like complete the Sentence, FIJ, Grammatical errors, Analogies etc.
General Awareness: – This section covered current issues related to politics, entertainment, science and sports. According to many, this is going to be the deciding factor as some questions here were tricky and needed to have a good knowledge of the current trends on the parts of the candidates.
The result for CMAT February 2013 is due on 13th March 2013.
